Day 243
July 4, 2020
Summer holidays in the time of pandemic and civil unrest become much quieter affairs which require a bit of introspection. This year my friend, who has really become more of a partner in my photographic expeditions, and I decided to take a walk in the neighborhood. I took photos while she made videos, it’s what we normally do when we spend time together. Afterward we picked up some salads and wine and sat on the front lawn of my place and discussed the world and what it means these days to be an American. We didn’t solve any of the world’s problems but we took the time to sit with them and exchange ideas about how we see July 4, 2020. It is history in the making and we both hope we all come out better humans on the other side.
