Day 278

August 8, 2020

August 8, 2020 Coconino National Forest, AZ – Cathedral Rock

Today, my last full day in Sedona, I spent it chasing clouds. Currently it is monsoon season here but there’s been zero clouds until today. According to several locals monsoon season has been a no show for two years. This is extremely worrisome and yet another product of climate change. So to finally get some clouds to shoot was very exciting, even though there was no rain at all.

This is Cathedral Rock, location of one of the strongest vortexes in the Sedona area. Easily one of the most intricate and beautiful rock formations. I was able to visit several on this trip. More photos and details about them may be found in the Sedona 2020 entry in the Travel section.
