Day 308
September 7, 2020
The beach weekend ended with a trip up to Pirate’s Cove, the beach I found a week or so ago. Unfortunately the state is, literally, on fire. So the beautiful, clear, blue skies were buried behind thick smoke. It was blowing down from Northern California and it was at such high altitude we couldn’t even smell it. It definitely gave the afternoon a feeling of being on Mars. Or what I would imagine a beach in Mars would be like. If Mars had beaches, and life sustaining atmosphere. But I digress. It was a lovely afternoon. We wanted to explore the cave but we didn’t want to disrupt the teenagers that took over the entrance for a make out session. Instead, we watched the waves crashing in, other kids tossing a football, birds scavenging for snacks. Fires aside, it was a nice and quiet way to end the holiday weekend. I may be starting a job soon. Not sure how to feel about that.
