Day 319
September 18, 2020
First week back at work in six months, done! Feels good to be back at work and have a semblance of normalcy. Though it is all far from normal. Lots of safety rules to follow. Meetings are tough to do when you can’t be in the same office as another person. So we all stand at our office doors and sort of meet in the hallway, but not in the hallway, ’cause that’s not allowed. The covid officer walks around making sure we are all wearing our masks and not congregating. While we all wear our masks as required, we do tend to forget the congregating part and at some point one of us remembers and we all scatter. I’m texting crew members in the office across the hall. It’s definitely an adjustment. Every day I am glad this show is shooting in another country, so we don’t have to go to set. We are pretty insulated on this job and that is a real relief. Now, to stay home for the weekend, because I still can’t go to spin class or see anyone. The one thing that we have realized is that we need to be ever more vigilant about our behavior. We are responsible for the five people we are working with. It’s a bit stressful to think about that but that is the case and we all are taking it very seriously. The other stressor is that if we get shut down here because one of us gets infected, that affects the people shooting in that other country. As in, they can’t shoot if we don’t send them the costumes they need to make the show. It’s a really big risk for the production to be doing this, in this way. Fingers crossed we manage without anyone getting infected.
