Day 127
March 10, 2020
The Magnolia Power Plant in Burbank is one of the first power plants in the world to operate strictly on recycled water. It has zero liquid discharge and all waste water is used on-site because the BWP has it’s own water treatment systems. This keeps wastewater from having to be discharged into the LA River. And because it reuses all the water, the plant saves millions of gallons in potable water the would have been necessary for its operation. This new plant has also cut the air pollution from the previous units by over ninety percent.
