Day 138

March 21, 2020

March 21, 2020 Santa Monica, CA

Bardonna, my favorite coffee shop, is only open for pick up or delivery these days. As is every other restaurant in the state. Normally, when I’m not working, I spend several mornings a week here. It’s going to be a while before I can do that again. The news is pretty dire. New York is not doing well. California numbers are rising. It’s getting pretty scary, if you’re paying attention.

Today I walked over to the beach, just to see what that was like. Didn’t even get there. Palisades Park was super crowded with people running and exercising. Others were out for a stroll. Many were there to watch the sunset. I decided I didn’t want to add to the crowds so stayed on the opposite side of the street. Walked over to the Third Street Promenade. A few people were hanging out, mostly homeless folks. Since most everything is closed it was pretty quiet. Weirdly quiet for a Saturday. I suppose this is the new normal.
