Day 111
February 23, 2020
Here is a detail of the 1100 South Broadway Building. This 13-Story building was constructed to house the Commercial Club of Southern California. Completed in 1926, the Italian Renaissance Revival Commercial Architecture structure was designed by Alexander Curlett and Claude Beelman of Curlett & Beelman. Eventually the property became the Cabrillo Hotel, the Case Hotel, and eventually a YMCA. In 2013 it was purchased by a group of commercial real estate brokers and was renovated and turned into the Downtown LA Proper Hotel. This building sits across from another historic landmark, the Herald Examiner building.
