Day 114

A beautiful pillbox hat from the 1960’s hanging on the wall with a few hundred others. It’s what the costume houses do. They maintain these items so they can be rented by the films and television shows we all watch. As the decades go by, some of the original pieces are removed from circulation as replicas are made by the various shows or by the costume houses themselves. Currently the 1980’s are very popular in entertainment, it’s getting very difficult to find what we need, so we either make replicas or scour the thrift stores for items from the period. It’s gotten more difficult since there are so many shoppers out there searching for the same things. And when it’s super specific, say a limited color palette, or a particular social group, it is a challenge. A welcome one.
