Day 119

March 2, 2020

March 2, 2020 Los Angeles, CA – Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Here we are, sunrise on day nine of shooting. Basecamp is at the legendary Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I absolutely love this place. Been here so many times I’ve lost count, mainly for movie screenings. I’ve seen everything from The Exorcist to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off to The Birds to The Craft and have even spent the night during Cinespia‘s annual Slumber Party. There are at least a couple of thousand other people attending so it isn’t creepy at all. However, since the cemetery abuts the north end of the Paramount Studios lot, it is said the sound stages on that side of the lot are haunted.

Today, a much quieter event but still lots of people around. Got to watch the sun come up over those palms. Didn’t actually realize the grave in the shot says Hitchcock until I opened it to edit and post. It is not THAT Alfred Hitchcock, though many people visiting the cemetery believe it to be. Another gentleman by the same name and no relation that I can find. Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock (KBE) passed away in 1980, was cremated, and his ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean. As were his wife’s, Alma, who passed two years after him.
