Day 144
March 27, 2020
This little piggy bank was a gift from a friend when she lived In Oaxaca, Mexico about ten years ago. I finally had a chance to visit Oaxaca this past fall and fell in love with everything about it. There is art literally everywhere you look. Not to mention the architecture, the food, and the people. Truly an incredible place.
This got me thinking about travel in general and how that is no longer an option. I had plans to go back to the UK in September this year. Then I’d fly to see my parents for the holidays. Now I’m just hoping we can resume travel in December and pushing the UK trip to May or September of next year. This change is heartbreaking as I love experiencing different places and cultures. Not to mention the pictures. My plan was to take one big trip every year and I put that plan into motion last summer. Now everything is on hold until we can figure out the new normal. Slowly we will be adding to the list of things we’ve taken for granted that have been radically altered by this collective experience.
