Day 174

April 26, 2020

April 26, 2020 Venice, CA – Venice Canals

The Venice Canals at sunrise on an intensely foggy morning. When I left Santa Monica the skies were clear and it was working it’s way into a beautifully sunny day. Once I crossed Ocean Park the fog was like pea soup. It just came out of nowhere. There were spots on the road along the way were I could barely make out the stoplight across the street. I had no idea what the conditions were going to be when I got there. This is what it was, three minutes after official sunrise. Now, I figured shooting in these conditions meant editing would be a challenge. And yes, it absolutely was. But I really enjoyed experimenting with the various different Lightroom tools. I was able to bring the colors out without loosing the spooky vibe of the original image.
