Day 178
April 30, 2020
Today there was a, by today’s standards, long distance outing. A friend’s camping truck was broken into. Seems the would be thieves damaged some tiny thing in the steering column which shut down the ignition. Clearly amateurs taking advantage of the Twilight Zone episode we are currently living through. The truck had to be towed to a repair shop, and once fixed my friend needed a lift to the shop bring it home. So, masks on, we embarked on this seventeen mile adventure. Which was very close to my daily morning commute, back when that was a thing. Those twenty five minutes flying up the 405, with zero traffic, on a Thursday afternoon, are what dreams are made of! And having buddy to do it with made it even better. A road trip would be incredible at this point.
This tractor was just parked outside the shop’s office. Being a city person, my only experience with farming equipment would be at work, and I haven’t done many movies about farming. This shop, a picture vehicle rental company, had all sorts of fun machinery to explore. Sadly I wasn’t able to do much exploring, things being as they are. But getting this shot was a little extra fun for today. Used the Cannon DSLR, the shutter was set at 1/1250, the aperture at f/4.5, and the ISO at 400. It was just before 3 PM in the very sunny Valley against a white wall. In Lightroom, I toned down the whites and added a little grain to help calm that wall down a bit.
