Day 181
May 3, 2020
I can’t resist a palm alley, or a street devoid of cars, a rare sight around here. The lack of cars, not the palm trees. There are so many more people out walking these days, I have been searching for streets that attract less crowds. Not having hiking trails or beaches for people to go to has forced everyone into the neighborhoods. Which is a good thing as containment is easier if everyone stays put. But it makes social distancing during walks more challenging. I may be covering some of the same distances but the step counts are adding up from all the crossing back and forth to avoid getting too close to other people. It’s a bit funny to watch us all going around cars, over lawns, or jumping on to a fence as necessary. At least most if us are trying to give each other a wide berth.
