Day 204

May 26, 2020

May 26, 2020 Santa Monica, CA

Today is the first day that retail is allowed to reopen, if they choose to. But they must follow specific guidelines set up by the county and the state. I didn’t really leave home today. Just a quick pitstop at the corner store (the lifeline of our street) so didn’t see anything different from the last ten weeks. In-person dining is allowed but apparently there are extra rules and the whole thing, to me, feels a bit too soon. So I won’t be going out to dinner just yet. My biggest step into society is hiking with two specific friends or sitting on the front lawn, six feet apart, having a chat. We’ll probaly move into incorporating snacks but definitely not much more, for the time being.

Now this image is of one of the flowers hanging out on my desk this week. The Orange Lilly. European origin and apparently highly toxic to cats. Luckily that is not a worry for me. But now I’m thinking about the cats in the neighborhood and the number of lilies I see on my walks. I imagine it’s instinctual for them to stay way. At least I hope so. I have started playing with the manual settings on the Camera+2 App and this is the first picture I made with mostly manual settings. I need to figure out the Lens capacity and how to adjust it, if it’s possible with my version of the iPhone.

Camera: iPhone X/Camera+ 2 App
Lens (iPhone): 4mm
Shutter Speed: 1/30
Aperture: f/1.8
ISO: 32
