Day 222
June 13, 2020
The Golden Dewdrop, a pretty little thing with a very dark twist. This shrub is native to Latin America, from Mexico to the southernmost tip, as well as the Caribbean. But don’t let this beauty fool you. The leaves and the unripened golden berries it produces are highly toxic. Cats, dogs, and even children have been killed from ingesting this plant. I find it very surprising that it is so prevalent in the neighborhood. Pretty but dangerous.
