Day 272
August 2, 2020
I am really taken aback by the variety of flowers and plants around the neighborhood. Over the ten plus years I have lived here I never had the time to explore the neighborhood as I have these last few months. These explorations have introduced me to so many flowers I’ve never come across, or simply never noticed. Today I was introduced to these Sunshine Mimosas, or Powderpuffs, I am so taken with them. They’re beautiful and apparently they are drought-resistant and make for great ground cover. You can use these instead of turf grasses and they don’t require fertilizer. So yes, a big fan, even with their sensitive leaves that fold up at the slightest disturbance.
