Day 296
August 26, 2020
Evening walk on a random pandemic Wednesday. Somedays I just can’t believe this is the world we live in. I may have said this in previous posts, but living through history making days is quite exhausting. Though the restrictions have been scaled back quite a bit and things are looking somewhat less daunting, it’s still difficult to continue to have to stay away from friends and family. The fact that we cannot travel, pretty much anywhere, out of the country highlights the separation we are all dealing with. At first it was terrifying, as we had no idea what we were dealing with. Now it’s exhaustion that’s hitting hard. That combined with the fact that things will get worse in the fall, as the experts suggest, makes it clear we are not anywhere near being able to go back to some semblance of normalcy. I long for dinners with friends, hugs from family, walks on the sidewalk rather than on the street to give other humans a wide berth. I miss seeing people’s faces.
