Day 315
September 14, 2020
First day back at work was such a mix of emotions. It was exciting, nerve-racking, confusing, familiar and frustrating. It was exciting because for the first time in almost six months I got to spend time, like real time, with people. I got to see old friends, meet new people and starting a show always feels exciting and full of possibilities. It was nerve-racking because we are all wearing face masks all day long, there are tons of rules to follow, and one hopes everyone is following the rules but there are no guarantees. Confusing because picking up a show that has already started and replacing the old crew means playing catch up and the possibility that something might get missed in the transfer always looms large. Familiar because I’ve been doing this for almost twenty years. Frustrating because after sitting at home for six moths I felt rusty. There were moments where I just completely blanked out as to what I should do or how I normally do my job. But it didn’t last long. It is like riding a bike. You can’t really forget how to do it. I did however get so wrapped up on the work I forgot to take a picture. This was taken as I was walking to my car to go home. All in all it was a really good day!
