The beautiful new mural on the Wolcott side of El Popocatepetl Tortilleria, in Pilsen, was recently painted to replace the one that had been damaged during necessary repairs made to the wall. The original mural had been commissioned by the producers of a feature that was filmed in the neighborhood back in 2008. This new mural was painted by Kozmo, AKA Brenda Lopez, and her husband MATR, AKA Manuel Macias at the request of El Popocatepetl’s owner. He wanted the new mural to better represent the historic roots of the community as we well as honoring his father, the founder of the family business.
